2021 AWARDS ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED (BUT 100% OF ANY LATE ENTRIES BY LUNCHTIME TODAY MONDAY 9 NOV WILL GO TO CHARITY)

Huge thanks to everyone who entered, and also to our fantastic judging panel – we all have our work cut out for us this year!

There have been some really interesting new trends emerging, I’ll cover these next month but I am taking a few weeks off now to rest my arm, as I have been working in quite a lot of pain.

If you missed last Friday’s deadline, I have some good news for you!

I will donate the entire entry fee from any entries that come in before midday today MONDAY 9 Nov to charity (homeless & food banks primarily).

I will be donating 100% of entry fees between last night and today lunchtime to two charities/organisations.

First up: beauty editor and author Sali Hughes’ Beauty Banks (helping the homeless, women’s refuges and much more). I had a chat with her on Instagram yesterday evening.

Secondly, a new local organisation I am looking at and would like to volunteer with, who are cooking food for and handing out meals, medication, clothing and bedding for homeless people and families who cannot afford to feed the children at the moment. (Cannot imagine what an awful feeling this must be).

Third, if there is enough left, £100 will go to the dog rescue centre I have been volunteering with this year. I want to keep my four legged pals!

I will post more on all these soon.

So if you had planned to enter for March 2021 and forgot or things got crazy last week, you have a few more hours left.

The entry form is on the homepage – you can’t miss it – and you can either choose your categories by putting them in the comments box, or we will enter every product into all relevant categories for you, absolutely free.

The only cost associated with these awards is the initial entry fee, there are no other costs at all.

Please, no questions about entries because I am trying to rest, everything you need to know is on the entry form page and entrance will receive the address and number of samples they need to send in (it’s not a lot).

These awards are only expert-judged, there is no public vote. We don’t use “testers” because they don’t usually have the breadth of product knowledge and experience beauty insiders do.

[Despite emails almost every week asking me to run ads, all content is 100% pure editorial and the awards likewise are completely independent and sponsor-free].

We judge every product purely on its individual merits, and these awards are not easy to win but indie start-ups do win alongside global household names.

I believe in transparency, an equal playing field, and supporting outstanding ethical brands doing the right thing.

If you are entering before lunchtime, good luck! If you win, think what a special feeling it will be – knowing that your entry fee has gone to help somebody who really need help right now (not to mention being able to use the Beauty Shortlist Awards winner logo on your products and the positive recognition and message that goes with it!)

All the best!
