12 FEEL BETTER TIPS FOR THIS WEEKEND

I shared some of these as a Tweet on social media…then the list got longer! What are your best tips? Feel free to share yours in the comments below – or on Twitter – I think we all probably need some extra good advice and tips right now…

1. Don’t watch the news

2. Have an Epsom Salt or Magnesium Salts bath (adding head-clearing rosemary, eucalyptus or a touch of mint essential oil, or maybe a grapefruit & sweet orange blend if you’re feeling a bit on the low side)

3. Do something creative – make an autumn wreath, healthy bakes, or your own hand-blended spicy chai tea?

4. Treat yourself to a (really) good new book and savour every single page

5. Light some candles or dot some tealights in empty glass food jars along the kitchen window sill with a few pine cones.

6. Walk in nature/be in nature/notice nature’s colours, scents and textures (even, just watching nature documentaries on YouTube or Netflix is soul-soothing). Beach, countryside, rural path, mountain, valley, riverside, lake, hiking trail, copse, woodlands, forest, wild hedgerows, garden or the nearest park.

7. Make a new music playlist (spa – reggae – dance – chillout – calm, etc)

8. Find a new (healthy) comfort food recipe

9. Discover 5 (or however many) new music artists you love but never knew existed (I LOVE doing this!)

10. Ditto – above. But with natural beauty brands, and the more the better! There are so many beautiful ones out there – compile your own personal beauty shortlist/top 10 clean beauty makeup bag wishlist. (Or play with lipstick shades just outside your comfort zone on an app).

11. Get a new plant (here’s mine!)

12. Get as much sunlight as you can fit into your day (even dull outdoors daylight is far healthier than being indoors). This one’s BIG (and a very decent high dose VitD3 + K2, if you hate capsules you can take drops. I take 5,000iu daily, more to boost immunity – if you need to, start now, vitamin D levels take a while to build up, not overnight).

(And “one for the road”, this would be do a daily meditation, guided or otherwise, it’s free, good for breath work and our mental health and can be really quite life-changing).
