9 ULTRA-COMFORTING BEAUTY BUYS FOR COSY NIGHTS IN SEASON

Cue new routines, warmer shades, warming foods, richer textures and the return to all things “earthier” and comforting as we start prepping for the longer nights (and more candles!) on the way.

These 9 Beauty Shortlist ultra feelgood winners will sail you through winter…

From NYR’s luxe, natural Wild Rose Hand Cream to Tisserand’s Total De-Stress Bath and Shower Wash (I really love this shower gel). The blend? Warming nutmeg meets cheerful sweet orange but there’s a modern geranium twist to it, too, plus interesting extra notes of petitgrain, lavender and ho wood.

Tip: De-Stress Diffuser Oil doubles as a gorgeous and more original winter holiday scent for chilly evenings, while the shower wash is effortlessly unisex, too (men/grooming bloggers take note).

TISSERAND DE-STRESS BATH & SHOWER WASH

£11.95/400ml (a very large bottle so it should last a while).

HERBFARMACY WILD PANSY+CHAMOMILE TLC BALM

£16/30ml Gentle enough even for babies 6 weeks and up, stock up on this sooner than later if your skin acts more sensitive in colder weather.

OLVERUM BATH OIL

Arguably the “original” spa-inspired bath oil (since 1931) and you only need a couple of drops of this potently soporific potion to lull yourself to sleep pretty much as soon as you’ve made it into bed.

MIDDLE ROW

BY SARAH LONDON ORGANIC FACIAL OIL

London brand By Sarah’s new face oil quickly became the darling of the facial oil launches when it first landed and if you’re yet to try it, it comes in a 10ml try-me size as well a full 30ml/£32 so you can “dip in” before you commit.

NEOM ORGANICS PERFECT PEACE CANDLE

Peace is perfect in this crazy world of ours…and for £42 giving 50 hours burn time, perfect peace at home costs less than a coffee.

EMMA HARDIE PURIFYING PINK DETOX CLAY MASK

I’ve mentioned this often before but a good number of the best beauty products I’ve tried have been formulated by top British facialists – Emma Hardie, Jane Scrivner, Sarah Chapman to name just three and Emma Hardie’s detoxifying, reviving, purifying pink clay mask is a one such example. Emma’s opted for Australian pink clay and moringa seed oil for this mask, to boost its anti-inflammatory, redness soothing, detoxifying, energising and calming action. We tested this deep cleanser and gentle exfoliator for our 2019 Beauty Shortlist Awards (it won), it’s a “bring skin back to life” product.

Apply a thin layer (avoiding eyes) and leave on for 10-15 mins and remove with the cloth that comes with it. Use once weekly (approx).

Ingredients buffs/INCI readers will spot Agastache Mexicana Leaf, Flower and Stem on the list (aka “hyssop” which is a member of the mint family – and edible) and  agastache Mexicana contains a number of antioxidants, including hesperetin and anti-inflammatory quercetin).

BOTTOM ROW

INNER SENSES ORGANICS 7 WONDERS SKIN PANACEA

Yesss! Inner Senses Organics will send you try-me sizes, so you can dip into this lovely face or body blend packed with a wisely chosen shortlist of nature’s most nourishing oils. Take it for a test drive for just £4/10ml or better still splurge on the 100ml size (£34).

This multi-tasking beauty blogger favourite was a much-loved Beauty Shortlist Awards winner this year.

THERAPIE BY ROQUES-O’NEIL HIMALAYAN BATH SALTS

Crazy week ahead? Hugely respected aromatherapist Michelle Roques-O’Neil’s Bath Salts have become something of a legend among beauty editors as well as insomniacs. The first time I tried them (in 2013 I think?) I just about made it to the bedroom, hit the pillow then fell asleep reading a book (something I never do).

They also look great in the bathroom and Therapie does refills so you can keep the stylish glossy black “jar” (canister?) on display.

Very calming. Very comforting.

NEALS’S YARD REMEDIES WILD ROSE HAND CREAM

Wrapping up these autumn comforters now with the hand cream partner to NYR’s legendary hero product – Wild Rose Balm (swoon!) keep one in the kitchen and if you’ve got a gardening shed maybe keep one in there, too (or buy NYR’s lovely Bee Lovely Hand Cream and support our very important bees).

This is one of my favourite “£10 or under” autumn treats and another is NYR’s delicious Orange & Geranium blend which I’ve also re-purchased numerous times.
