5 AFFORDABLE BEAUTY BUYS YOU’LL WANT TO BUY AGAIN

5 easy on the wallet buys that prove natural/organic can be affordable…

I’m actually compiling a new list of “affordables” soon, including some of the entries that have been winging their way over to us for the 2020 Beauty Shortlist Awards. [Reminder: entries close 8 Nov and judging is already in progress).

Plant-based products are more precious and cost more to source and produce than cheap(er) synthetic ingredients but I’ve been seeing some very affordable organic brands launching recently.

THE DETAILS

But…back to this affordable “high five” edit. I have used every one of these products more than once and keep going back to them. I’ve singled out Dr Organic’s 24 hr rescue cream because it’s light, nourishing, calming and a really nice moisturiser for summer, actually! And it’s got hemp oil in it (remember when The Body Shop launched its hemp range years ago?). I love the feel of this face cream.

Barefoot SOS’s face and body rescue cream (another rescuer! …this brand was founded by a homeopathic expert) is another light, lovely one with always seems to work well when redness or irritation is present.

A Mummy and Baby fave 🙂

Pai Skincare’s Rosehip Oil is one of those all time stand-by’s which never fail. This is one of those “if you could only have ONE single oil facial oil in your handbag…” success stories (argan would be an equal first in my bag).

Rosehip is such a healing oil. Good for scars and especially regenerative, this oil is very wallet friendly indeed – highly recommend it. I love the golden/orangey colour and it’s saved my skin many times (this is a great oil to put on after a day at the beach, by the way, before you’re tucked up in bed after a dreamy night in a jasmine-filled, candle lit Greek taverna!)

Kinvara’s Rosehip Moisturiser was a nice find for me, some years ago. I recommended it to a friend in her 20s last summer, who had never quite found that signature moisturiser for her skin, and she came back raving about it. I’m way older than 25 and it’s one of my favourites, too. It’s light, fresh and full of naturally nourishing, healing ingredients. I like this brand and hope it’ll be available in more places, soon. Kinvara’s from the west coast of Ireland, Galway, I have a deep love for these natural Irish brands (VOYA being another beautiful one).

Also – Weleda Evening Primrose Night Cream ticks all the boxes (if you’re over 50, have a look at this range). Evening Primrose balances skin (taken internally, it helps balance hormones) and it’s rich enough without being “cloying”. I also like Weleda’s Pomegranate Firming Night Cream which is similarly priced (see the price tag list below)…

I have used 1 or 2 products and they are really good. The list you have given I will try for sure for once.

It concerns me that the PAI Rosehip Oil is in a clear bottle. Every expert warns against purchasing Rosehip Oil in a bottle that does not protect it from the light.

Yes. Miron Violett Glas (sic) bottles and Amber Bottles are definitely better, ideally, to protect against UVA rays/sunlight (and heat is bad, too, for these oils as we know!)
