Michelle Roques-O’Neil is one of my favourite women in beauty. A legendary aromatherapist, her formulas are akin to alchemy – and while much of the mainstream press is still 10 years behind and only just heralding green beauty as a 2017 trend (get with the programme!) it has barely touched on (genuinely) healing beauty and by this I mean pure crystal, plant and energy-infused formulas, not your every day lavender bubble bath. (Dr Hauschka was another brand ahead of its time, planting and harvesting its ingredients by the light of the lunar calendar).
I think healing beauty will be massive in the next 5 years (California is ahead of the UK with this one, just as the Cali crowd led the juicing/green smoothing revolution about 15 years before the UK caught on).
Michelle’s clients are A-listers and beauty editors but she never boasts about them, she just gets on with her beautiful work. Interestingly, more than a few stellar aromatherapy heroes have emerged from this year’s Awards entries, 2017 looks like the strongest year yet (year 6) for aromatherapy entries, flower essences, Ayurvedic, chakra-healing and crystal-powered beauty.
