2017 BEAUTY SHORTLIST AWARDS: ENTRY FORM

awards-image-for-post

The Beauty Shortlist Awards are arguably the most independent, consumer-trusted UK beauty, wellbeing and men’s grooming awards due to having zero allegiance to any brand, big or small, and no financial tie-ins whatsoever.

This year they are global, for the first time, with judging satellites in New York, Sydney, Stockholm and, as in the previous 5 years, the main panel is in London.

The judges include Fiona Klonarides, founder, The Beauty Shortlist; Justine Jenkins, red carpet, cruelty free makeup artist (clients include Fearne Cotton, Laura Whitmore, Charlotte Rampling and Joanne Froggatt); TV style, fashion and beauty expert Dawn Del Russo (E! Entertainment/Access Hollywood), her sister makeup artist and Divalicious Beauty NYC writer Denise Del Russo; Kicki Norman, editor in chief of Scandinavian beauty publication Daisy Magazine; and Irene Falcone, founder of Australia’s leading organic/vegan retailer Nourished Life; ex-BBC journalist and food and beauty writer Samantha Hadadi and beauty, travel and lifestyle writer Michaela Deasy-Smith.

PLEASE USE THIS Entry Form link  TO ENTER.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email Hannah at hannahbeautyshortlist@gmail.com.

What’s New?

There are more Men’s Grooming and Age-specific skincare categories (including Best Skincare Product Age 60+) and for the first time brands can enter unlimited products for a one time flat fee of £250.

Please note – unlike some other awards, there is NO CHARGE for our 2017 Winner/Finalist/Editor’s Choice awards logos which brands can use for marketing, press, QVC, trade shows, etc.  We also provide winners with a quote from us about why the product or range really impressed us.

How to enter

Entering is an easy  two-step process:

  1. Submit your form (you will receive the Next Steps from us within 24 hours) and complete your entry fee payment.
  2. Then, send in two full size samples of the products you have entered, to the address we will provide you with.

The Results: Thursday 2 March 2017

The complete results are published at 5am London time on the morning of the Awards, which this year is Thursday, 2 March 2017.

“I love the integrity that shines through these awards, they should be used as everyone’s beauty shopping list!”

Alexia Inge, co-founder, Cult Beauty LONDON

Can overseas brands enter? Yes, this year (year 6) they can enter for the first time even if they have no UK presence and are not sold in the UK. So this year is different. They’re essentially global.

Who is judging?  We have 12 head judges (who will be revealed this week – 17 Oct) and 8 other behind the scenes judges, mainly in the UK.  International head judges include those in Australia, Sweden and the USA.

Why international? Two reasons – firstly, we had to disappoint a lot of brands last year who were not on UK retail sites or in stores in the UK so we decided to open them up. And then we did get entries from, say, Californian brands, who were in London but wanted to send us products from the States and we thought what a terrible carbon footprint! So now, US, Australian and Scandinavian (Sweden, primarily) brands can send their entries to the local judges in their country to save costs and reduce the carbon (shipping) footprint.

Is there an entry fee?  £60 per product. Brands may enter as many categories as they wish with the same product (no extra cost for extra categories). You can also enter 5 or more products – unlimited – for a special FLAT RATE of £250.

What’s new? There are a few more categories this year overall, but the main differences include more Men’s Grooming and more Age-Specific Skincare categories (as you’ll see we even have one for Age 60+) as well as Best Beauty Box, App and Device.

“Beauty has no age because any age is beautiful”

As they’re international, will more awards be given out? We will be awarding more winner awards as the entry numbers will be higher. There are also new country-specific categories like BEST SKINCARE BRAND – USA, Australia, and Scandinavia.

What are the categories for 2017? There are a lot.  If you need help, please ask Hannah.  They span:

Skincare

Makeup

Hair

Bath/Body

Nails

Beauty Supplements (eg Collagen Drinks or Beauty Vitamin Formulas)

Aromatherapy, Fragrance, Home Fragrance

SPF and self-tanning products

Beauty Devices, Beauty Boxes, Beauty Apps

Men’s Grooming – Skincare, Bath/Body, SPF

Health – supplements/teas, etc.

HOW TO ENTER

Please complete the ONLINE ENTRY FORM HERE or email Hannahbeautyshortlist@gmail.com with your products and categories. As the online entry form only takes 5 products or less, if you are entering more than that for the UNLIMITED SPECIAL RATE, please email the remainder to Hannah or send her your complete entry by email instead.

When are the Awards? THURSDAY 2 MARCH.

IMPORTANT! Entries close 5pm on TUESDAY 6 DECEMBER. No exceptions (sorry!) your entry must be completed by 5pm that day, i.e. entry fee paid, samples with us, all wrapped up. We require 2 full size samples of each product entered, in original retail packaging (e.g. no testers/white labels).

The Beauty Shortlist Awards began in March 2012 and are now the largest non-sponsored, thoroughly judged (not voted for), 100% transparent, zero financial tie-ins, beauty and wellbeing awards in the UK.  This is their 6th year and first year open to all international brands.
