HERE COMES A GAMECHANGER: MURAD’S NEW INVISIBLUR

MOROCCO murad invisiblur

Murad make the best anti-ageing SPF I’ve ever used (anti-ageing because it’s sooo much more than an SPF) and they’ve launched a flurry of interesting products that in true Murad style do more than just a couple of things.

Invisiblur Perfecting Shield Broad Spectrum SPF30 won Best Beauty Breakthrough in the Beauty Shortlist Awards winner last month and if you haven’t checked it out, these are some of the USPs that impressed us.

The Sunday Times calls it:

“A marvellous product… blurs imperfections and wrinkles, acts like a primer and moisturises.”

  • First, on a more superficial level, this transparent silky “gel” blurs lines like a magical primer, prepping skin for makeup or it lets you go foundation-free unless you need more coverage.
  • At a deeper level, the SPF factor is strong enough for London day wear (I haven’t tested this in more extreme zones like near the Sahara where I did test all the SPFs for our awards a few years ago plus some high intensity moisturisers, as that dry desert air sucks the life out of your skin in minutes!)
  • Now for the science/botanicals bit: Shitake Mushroom and Mucor Miehei Peptides stimulate collagen production to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while Barley, Sunflower and Cucumber extracts mimic skin’s membrane structure to “up” the amount of moisture it can attract and just as importantly, retain.INVISIBLUR is £55/30ml and comes in a lightweight, airtight pump (this style of pump is super-clean, we noticed a lot of these about during our Awards judging and they’re so much easier to use than the more old-fashioned “beak” pumps which I predict will fade away in the next year or two)

Here’s the SPF I love so much, below, it’s incredibly comfortable on, absorbs quickly, has a very light, barely noticeable scent and although it feels more like a moisturiser, it’s like a bodyguard against the sun. I’m hoping Murad will launch an SPF50 version at some stage…we’ll see! In the meantime this one’s the one for me, even if it is an investment buy at £59.50 (although it took me through two summer seasons very nicely as you only need a little to get you through the day).
