The perfumed version of la dolce vita has landed! Fresh from Italy, now in the UK, come Industria Perfumes’ three 100ml EDTs and matching candles.
And they’re gorgeous.
Very spring-into-summer, one for Jo Malone fans in the mood for a fresh take on the citrus/Med twist
Here’s the low down:
Who – The brand was created with Cereria Migone (etc. 1886), one of the oldest perfumiers and candle makers in Tuscany.
What – Taking inspiration from sources as diverse as medieval churches and the natural beauty of the Amalfi Coast, Industria Perfumes combines the classic Florentine art of marbelling with the science of olfactory alchemy.
Full size candles £40. EDT £60/100ml
TAKING ITS INFLUENCE FROM THE WILD BEAUTY OF NOTO IN SICILY, AMBERGRIS DELIVERS TOP NOTES OF SICILIAN LEMON, JUNIPER BERRY AND BLACK PEPPER. MIDDLE NOTES OF LAVENDER, CEDAR WOOD, TEAK AND BLONDE WOOD THAT COMPLIMENT THE CLASSIC BASE NOTES OF AMBERGRIS AND POWDERED MUSK.
I’m not a fan of ambergris but this blend is a sophisticated take on nature, and if you like this type of fragrance it’s probably a “best in class” example.
(This was a clear favourite for me, especially the divine EDT, one for Jo Malone lovers – mouthwateringly fruity and zesty and not too sweet)
FROM THE CITRUS GROVES OF THE AMALFI COAST, BERGAMOTTA COMBINES INTOXICATING TOP NOTES OF BERGAMOT OIL, ORANGE BIGARADE AND GRAPEFRUIT OIL. MIDDLE NOTES ARE LAYERED WITH ORANGE BLOSSOM, JASMINE AND ROSE OIL. THE BASE NOTES OF THIS COMPLEX FRAGRANCE CULMINATE IN OAK MOSS, MUSK AND CEDAR.
CARDINALIS (the candle I liked the most, beautifully warm, like a cardamom and sandalwood cocoon…with a modern twist)
EVOKING THE FLORENTINE RENAISSANCE, CARDINALIS IS AN EVER-EVOLVING FRAGRANCE WITH TOP NOTES OF LEMON AND MANDARIN OIL, YLANG YLANG AND OZONE. MIDDLE NOTES OF COCONUT, MUGUET AND CARDAMOM ARE COMPLIMENTED BY BASE NOTES OF CISTUS, AMBER AND SANDALWOOD.
