This month we’ve been playing with…our new JANUARY faves AEOS, ELEMENTAL HERBOLOGY, ADUNA & New CID

AEOS Cleansing Oil De-Maq at www.beingcontent.com.  It’s full of good plant oils (spelt, jojoba, sesame, avocado, grape seed), doesn’t feel too oily, goes a long way and does the job beautifully. Dampen a cotton wool pad with warm water, add a couple of drops of this biodynamic cleansing oil and makeup sweeps off! It can be used to take off eye makeup, too.  Top left (the yellow bottle).

ELEMENTAL HERBOLOGY’S Detox Botanical Bathing Infusion at www.bathandunwind.com.

Grapefruit, Juniper Berry, Rosemary and Geranium work to help eliminate toxins, stimulate lymphatic drainage and encourage circulation. Just add 2-3 capsules in the bath or add a little oil to your skin while showering.  The peach kernel, jojoba and sweet almond oil blend left our skin baby soft and it has a gorgeous apothecary-style herbal/healing scent, hard to describe as the botanical extracts combined create a unique sort of “sum of their parts”, the rosemary really comes through.

Tip: rub a few drops into the palms of your hand while you’re in the bath, cup over your face and inhale for a minute to calm and clear the mind.

So gorgeous you’ll wish it was a body oil.

Best price at the moment is £20 at Bath & Unwind.

This ADUNA Baobab Pineapple and Almond Raw Energy Bar is so delicious it’s almost shocking. We expected that “grainy mix” of ingredients that so many energy bars have…slightly weird tasting, perhaps.  But this? It’s a sweet burst of island pineapples, mixed with dates, apple juice, almonds and baobab powder which comes from the African baobab tree and is extremely high in antioxidants.

ADUNA are helping communities in Africa (currently Senegal and Ghana) so you know that part of the £1.89 you shell out for this bar will go to a good cause.  (Side note: You can’t really taste the dates in this – it’s the pineapple that really stands out).

Very pineapple-y, very mouthwatering. We could inhale one of these after lunch every day of the work week.

Ingredients: Dates, Apple Juice, Dried Pineapple (15%), Baobab Powder (15%), Raisins (Raisins, Sunflower Oil), Almonds (11%)

New CID’s I-Gloss (shown here in Moonstone) adds a new dimension to the term “illuminating” makeup.  These literally do light up when you twist and pull out the applicator wand (there’s a little white light under the wand top). With a built-in mirror, too, this is the perfect gloss for candle-lit restaurants, low lit night club bathrooms or a quick reapplication at your favourite Greek island taverna (the one with no mirror in the loo) around about midnight…

Ultra-shiny and supremely glossy, there are two ways to apply I-Gloss: straight from the wand or for a less ultra-shine more natural look, dab a little on the lips with your finger.  Or apply as a top coat to a matte lipstick when you’re not in a matte mood.

BRANDALLEY.CO.UK is having a New CID SALE this week (till Wednesday 21 Jan) so now’s a good time to get one.
