ARK SKINCARE Regenerating Skin Defence #winterwonderworker

I’ve been gravitating towards this treatment serum like a duck to a pond since mid December. It WAS in ARK’s JANUARY SALE (was £70, now £52.50) but ARK have given us an exclusive code for 25% off (TBS25) – see below.

Although it’s on the higher end price-wise at the original price of £70, when you place it alongside a Dr. Sebagh serum (same size, £86) or say Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recover Complex (same size, £69), you’re getting one heck of a skin treatment for just over £50.

UPDATE! The sale has just ended (as of 5pm on 15 Jan) BUT…ARK have given us a 25% OFF code, exclusively for readers of The Beauty Shortlist so if something takes your fancy, pop the code TBS25 in when you checkout online – and you can still buy the Regenerating Skin Defence for 25% off the original £70 price, which rounds it up (or rather down) nicely to £52.50!

Here’s why I liked it…

We LOVE Travel Size Sets and

ARK do a 4-piece discover set for all ages from Teens to 50+ , they’re all £21/£22 in the January SALE  at the moment

Above is the Age Repair Discovery Set (was £30, now £22)

ARK’s AGE REPAIR Regenerating Skin Defence is aimed at the 50+ market but I feel it would be a product to take a good look at for skin around 45+ which tends to be dry or very dry or is really sleep-deprived, stressed, needs extra help on the winter protection front or  feels like the very life (not to mention water!) is being sucked out of it by months of central heating (and/or dry office air.) For me, Regenerating Skin Defence is one of those SOS products, when more help is needed, which delivers real turnaround results.

“This is not a liquidy serum that drips off a bottle dropper, it’s thicker –

rather like a whisper-light cream/serum hybrid”

Twist the top of the pot (under the silver lid) and out pumps one application.  It’s a thickish but really lightweight white treatment serum with an irridescence to it, so the minute it’s on skin looks dewier, glowier and more hydrated – this is not a liquidy serum that drips off a bottle dropper, it’s thicker – rather like a whisper-light cream/serum hybrid.

What I really like about this product is (a) the instant radiance thanks to the irridescence; (b) its longevity (it keeps skin looking and feeling moisturised and less “tight” – if you have dry skin this deserves a serious look if you’re skincare shopping); and (c) the results over time.  If I’d forked out £70 for it, I’d be pretty pleased by the results (plumping, ongoing hydration, “fresher” feeling skin, reduction of dryness/tightness, smoothing of lines, and a definite extra glow factor) and at £52.50 it feels like a beauty steal “investment treatment”.

Regenerating Skin Defence features:

Alpine Rose Leaf Stem Cells protect against environmental stress and boost epidermal regeneration

Camelina Oil improves skin elasticity and suppleness

Vitamins C, E and B3 are anti-inflammatory, reducing redness and increasing smoothness

Hyaluronic Acid plumps and intensely moisturises to increase firmness

ARK’s age-targeted ranges are intelligently formulated and although this product is aimed at the 50+ market I’d earmark it for 45+ skin that tends to be dry or has visibly accelerated in ageing, perhaps due to extreme stress, overwork, lack of sleep, etc.

ARK formulates its three ranges for:

Teens – early 30s

30s – 50

…and 50 and beyond

What’s it like? I couldn’t honestly tell you, as we haven’t trialled this one  yet but it’s on our February list, so if it’s a stand out, expect a report (which reminds me – you’ll never get a “pretty good/OK” product on The Beauty Shortlist, if we are sent products in that fall short of wowing us, they just don’t get a look in, let alone a write up, and simply waft silently into a black beauty hole). Have you tried this? What’s your verdict?

ARK says about its Supporting Moisturiser: Say hello to your new reflexion. Our powerful anti-ageing moisturiser combats the signs of hormone loss such as dullness, dryness, uneven tone and loss of elasticity. The rich, silky texture glides on effortlessly and provides a long-lasting base for make-up. Skin looks younger, firmer and more flexible.

Last but not least, here’s another ARK star: ARK’s Anti-Ageing Sun Protector Primer SPF30 one of the stand-outs in last year’s Beauty Shortlist Awards
