NAILED IT!

“Negative space” nail art is a big nail trend for 2015 (“free from” nail brand Zoya created the look above, using two neutrals, Tomoko and Farah), as this trend hits the runways.  We’ll all be seeing more mismatched manis and fresh duck egg blue shades (with pastel pink lips and glossy neutrals making a statement at the moment, this could be one of the “lightest”  SS15 looks we’ve seen in a while, but there’s lots of creative black-on-white nail art around, too).
Look out for a whole lot of Dulux-toned duck egg blues this spring.  Here’s Nailberry’s Formentera, a frozen ice blue with a matte finish.
Nailberry polishes are all 4 free nail – free of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP and Camphor and never tested on animals.
And as the quickest beauty fix for just over or under £10 is a glossy pot of nail lacquer or a slick of lipstick – and because it’s the first Monday of the year and the first Monday back at work for a lot us #argh we thought we’d do a New Year Nail round-up?
Whitehorse by INTENSAE, a soft white that becomes opaque with multiple coats
So grab a tea as we walk you through a winter wonderland of dark berries and day-to-night neutrals.  Big thanks to Samantha Hadadi, our Baby Awards head judge who painstakingly put all of these to the test during the holidays #musthavegotthroughalotofnailvarnishremover.
Here are the ones that wowed Sam, all tried and tested:
HJ Manicure Coco, £9
This brownish pink shade is perfect for adding warmth to your nude nail varnish collection during the cooler months. The colour is super flattering to most skin tones and works well with some of our favourite winter daytime shades – camel, grey and navy. I love HJ Manicure polishes as not only are they easy to apply, they’re also vegan friendly and free from any toxic chemicals.

Crabtree and Evelyn, Sand, £6
This beautiful nude shade gives a gorgeously glossy, smooth finish. It’s perfect for any natural beauties out there who want to add just a touch of shimmer and sparkle to their winter look.

Crabtree and Evelyn, Pomegranate, £6
This sophisticated red wine shade is sure to turn heads at any party. I love how classic and stylish it is, without being too “in your face”, plus this is also one of the fastest drying polishes I’ve ever used. Perfect for last-minute painting!

Zoya, Chanelle, £11
Zoya’s sumptuous “free from” formula in this chocolate brown shade is ultra chic and incredibly versatile. It’s one of my favourite nude shades to wear with daytime outfits, and looks elegant and stylish with pretty much every colour under the sun. Plus, with two coats and a top coat, it stayed flawless for well over a week.

Zoya, Caitlin, £11
This smoky shade is seriously long-lasting and flatters pretty much any skintone. Great for glamming up your beloved jeans and jumper combos, but it works just as well with a touch of sparkle by night. The Zoya shades glide on like a dream – plus, they’re vegan friendly and free from any synthetics or toxic additives.

Beauty Bay Fifth Avenue, £5
Sultry, sexy and more than a little bit vampy, this deep red polish is perfect for adding drama to your classic LBD. This timeless shade needed just one coat to give an intense colour and lasted all week long with a top coat – a sure-fire Beauty Shortlist party favourite!

Intensae Paradisco
The most perfectly rich shade of conker brown, this shade is one of our picks of the season. Long-lasting, shiny and inspired by the uber elegant and stylish Charlotte Gainsbourg, this is the ultimate winter daytime shade.
