Get set for winter with NATURYA nutrient-rich superfoods

naturya group

It’s official – the season of the wardrobe rehaul, new beauty buys and comfort food for nippier nights is here. As summer’s sweet evenings of salads and vino al fresco give way to heartier fare, now’s the time to “prep” for winter with nutrient-rich foods and immune-boosting supplements.

Speaking of which, supergreens have blasted on to the UK scene in recent years as the heroes of the superfood world and Soil Association-certified UK brand Naturya’s 10-strong superfood range caught our eye at a food fair earlier this year.

Lucuma, a healthier alternative to sugar in baking

10 Superfoods and a million ways to use them…

OK not a million but there are ten versatile Naturya products to choose from: Acai, Maca, Chia Seeds, Lucuma, Spirulina, Chlorella, Barleygrass, Wheatgrass, Maca and Cocoa Nibs.

Even if you’re not a fan of green smoothies, the Naturya website has some seriously yummy sounding RECIPES. We could easily inhale a couple of Cocoa, Pecan and Orange Flapjacks…or double cream, dark chocolate and Chia Seed Florentines with a cup of tea and Joy Skinner’s (semi-finalist on MasterChef) Lucuma and Raisin Ice cream sounds exotic.

(What’s Lucuma?  We thought you might ask, we asked that, too; it’s a caramel-flavoured fruit grown in Peru and a much healthier alternative to sugar – great for baking, raw chocolate recipes and adding to smoothies for a dash of extra sweetness) .

Very Gwyneth Paltrow and very good for you.  Rather like…

NATURYA’s COCOA NIBS

Cocoa Nibs, 100% cocoa hit, 100% sugar and dairy-free

Goodbye chocolate guzzling, hello grazing on Cocoa Nibs

If you’re trying to give up chocolate (good luck!) keep a pack of Naturya’s Cocoa Nibs in the fridge instead.  Lindt 80% chocolate they are not – because they’re raw and totally sugar-free – but the comforting cocoa factor is there and they’re brilliant mixed into a home made trail mix or in recipes mixed with honey, agave syrup and vanilla – good ammunition if you’re determined to wean yourself off chocolate’s uber-addictive “sugar hit”.

NATURYA’s (50% protein) HEMP PROTEIN POWDER

Hemp yourself to a protein-rich smoothie

Manna from heaven for vegetarians – or anyone who could use a protein boost in their daily diet, frankly, we’ve decided  Naturya’s Hemp Protein Powder is fantastic stuff.  It contains 50% protein (mindblowingly, there’s a whopping 50g in 100g of powder) so add this to your morning smoothie and you’re pretty much sorted.

Did you know this ancient food was a superfood long before powerfoods became the supplement du jour  and it has been harvested for thousands of years?  It’s great for hair, skin and nails because Naturya’s hemp protein powder comes from Omega 6 and 3 oil-rich hemp seeds so it’s naturally loaded with protein, amino acids and omega fats.

The Cocoa Nibs are perfect when I’m craving chocolate. They’ve saved me from many sugar binges. The Lucuma powder looks well interesting also! I usually use coconut sugar but I might have to give this a try!
