Best of British…via New York: GEORGIA LOUISE

georgialouise

Described as the “cosmic facialist to the A-listers” by NY Times mag, and a “miracle worker” by Emma Stone, British celebrity facialist Georgia Louise now lives in the Big Apple but fortunately for her (addicted) fans, she still has a flagship salon in Knightsbridge, London and a delicious skincare range to dip in and out of, too.

We delved into a Georgia Louise Starter/Experience Kit last week, and if you like skincare that veers strongly in a holistic direction and is jammed with a sky high concentration of botanicals and plan anti-aging remedies/fragrant essential oils, then…”hello!!”

What’s in the Kit? Generous “travel” sizes (details HERE), of:

– CLEANSE + HEAL DUO BALM

This is a super-concentrated – richer than Donald Trump – meltingly unctuous Mango Seed and Coconut Oil-based balm and it doubles effortlessly as a makeup taker-offer as well as a multi-purpose healing balm (a nice dose of Omega 3,6,9 + essential fatty acids).

So you massage this onto damp skin and then remove it with a warm muslin cloth (use a separate eye makeup remover). You can actually use this twice during the same cleanse, for optimal results, and dab it all over dry patches – elbows, lips, hands, heels. Or, leave it on the face (avoid applying close to the eyes) as an intensive moisturizing treatment.

– SLEEPING BEAUTY OIL

Imagine you sourced practically every super-nourishing oil – Argan Apricot, Avocado (and that’s just the “A”s!) and put them into a delicate facial oil? This is the sort of supercharged oil you’d end up with. Massage a couple of drops onto the face and neck before applying (next on the list) the Brightening Day & Night Cream (in night mode), avoiding the eye area.

Loads more certified organic oils in here, including Rosehip, Rice Bran, Carrot, Rose, Neroli, Arctic Oat, Evening Primrose, Pumpkin, Rosemary, Lavender…smells gorgeous, feels gorgeous, is gorgeous – impressed.

– DAY & NIGHT BRIGHTENING CREAM
It’s a bit early to report back on this one, but Georgia Louise calls it “a hard working pot of day and night cream loaded with natural vitamins, omega oils and rich in antioxidants, peptides and plant collagen to plump and nourish skin.  It also contains the beauty must-have of all must-haves, Hyaluronic Acid, which sounds like something which leaks from a car battery but is a stellar moisture magnet/retainer.  HA is so effective that the number of creams and serums that do NOT contain it are gradually becoming few and far between.

What else is on the label? 7 moisture-binding plant oils and, interestingly, Champaca essence, one of the rarest in the world, which helps relax the jaw and prevent teeth grinding. There’s a first!

– HYDRATING ROSE WATER

A lot of Bulgarian roses must have been harvested for this calming, toning facial spritz and there’s Glycerine, Pomegranate, Ginseng, Neroli, Aloe, Horsetail and Soy Protein in this, too. Quite lovely. Perfect for planes and long Wimbledon matches, or a long day in the office.
