A for Affordable Luxury: ABAHNA LONDON

grapefruit hand cream award

Need a new handcream? Abahna London’s White Grapefruit & May Chang (£8) won Best Hand Cream in both last year’s and this year’s Awards (this year it tied with REN’s Citrus Prebiotic Limonium Hand Cream) and if you like uplifting grapefruit/sweet lemony “Mediterranean” scents this will really hit the spot! Cocoa and shea-butter based, it contains artemisia which is a natural antibacterial (we should point out that all you can smell are the delicious citrussy natural essential oils, there’s nothing remotely “antibacterial” about the scent!)

Also lovely is their Lilac Rose with Moroccan Geranium, a very pretty English summer garden style scent with nerve-soothing Moroccan geranium while Frangipani & Orange Blossom is a vibrant, much more heady and distinctly un-British exotic scent that will remind you of warm summer breezes on faraway isles.

Heading back to Europe again, the Mandarin & Sicilian Bergamot is very spring-in-Italy, like a gentle tangerine with a sophisticated zest to it, light and fresh for spring and summer.

…and they do candles! If you haven’t tried their candles yet, their £10 Travel Candles are the perfect size for tea lights, so when the wax has melted down to the very last flicker, you can pop a tea light in to show off the frosted glass holder speckled in gold with four beautiful and different Abahna designs.

Last but not least, you might love Abahna’s new Makeup and Wash Bags (which you can buy alone or filled with their “minis” (e.g. 100ml Body Lotions and Shower & Bath Gels, priced £5 each if you buy the travel sizes separately).  The Makeup or Wash Bag travel sets start at £20 each.

Abahna London launched their new Sleep and Lifestyle Collections at the end of last year and you’ll find their affordable luxuries at Heals, Fortnum & Mason and other retailers nationwide as well as spas  including the Four Seasons Spa in Park Lane, London.

If we were beauty buyers we’d have pounced on this brand long ago. A perfect fit for M&S’s new Your Beauty or John Lewis? The signature blends really do live up to the packaging (think gold-embossed thick, creatively-designed vibrantly-printed boxes and gift bags…and gold-flecked frosted glass candle holders and etched glass perfume flacons, etc.)  If you’re a NEOM Organics or Jo Malone fan, this is definitely a brand to dip into!

Have you tried Abahna? What did you think?

Loooove Abahna! Particularly hand creams & fragrances (have all four of both). Recently bought (in sale) a couple of candles to try.
OH loves (& steals!) the White Grapefruit … quite citrusy (he’s also a fan of Floris Limes). Think my favourite is Frangipani & Orange Blossom 🙂

Oh good! I’ve tried the Frangipani & Orange Blossom bath foam, lovely, but not the candle so must get it next time. Just found you on Twitter and love your blog so far, look forward to reading more (I know you’re a NEOM fan – like me – from your blog!) If you haven’t tried it yet, the White Grapefruit collection is a good one for men, you might like it? The shower gel if you don’t know it yet is worth earmarking – v. uplifting/fresh and fantastic in summer, really feel-good. Fi

  5. I’m completely obsessed with Neom, but I bought a couple of the Abahna travel candles this month to try them out and was very impressed. Great scents, fav being the Frangipane and Orange Blossom. Will definitely be purchasing the full size.
