LIPPY FOR NIPPY DAYS: DR LIPP

DrLippLipbam

OK so not as exciting as a new Guerlain lipstick, but exciting all the same because this little number by Dr Lipp is our new “almost everywhere balm”.

Dr Lipp Nipple Balm is 100% sheep’s lanolin (medical grade – very pure) and we tested it in December on cracked skin, lips, elbows, feet and anywhere that needed a dab or two.

Not being fans of petroleum jelly, Dr Lipp is right up our street. And unlike some natural lip balms there are no nut oils so it’s one to earmark if you have a nut allergy.

Used by mums and makeup artists, you could call it the natural version of Elizabeth Arden’s cult 8-Hour Cream.  Good if your lips dry out on flights, too.

It works as a wound healer, on eczema and nappy rash – a nice, natural, biocompatible barrier to protect winter skin.  Although you’ll have to squeeze hard to get it out of the tube as it’s dense stuff! Lingers on lips for ages, a little goes a long way. You could practically ski down a mountain and come up again and Dr Lipp would still be on your lips, ready for a glass or two of Chateau Ski Chalet 1998 at the end of a long day out on the slopes.

The perfect lip balm for a Frozen Planet.

Ecocert and 100% natural. £11. Visit www.DrLipp.com Also available at Cult Beauty, read what they say about it here.

Sounds great – unfortunately, I’m allergic to lanolin 🙁 Always on the lookout for things that are good for eczema.

I know the wool workers used to have wonderfully soft hands because of the lanolin in the sheep fleeces.
