New: BODHI – Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil

I’d heard that British aromatherapy brand Bodhi would be launching something special at the end of the summer and here it is. Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil is the first product in their new Artisan series and it has been worth the wait. If you don’t know the brand, treat yourself to a Bodhi bath or shower – for too many reasons to list here, it’s one of my favourite ethical brands.

How about this for a staggering fact:  it takes about 4 tons of fresh roses to produce 1kg of rose oil (around one million roses) which adds up to approximately 320 roses per 30ml bottle.  Harvested in Bulgaria’s famous Valley of the Roses, work starts at sunrise when the oil yield is at its highest and the picking is completed by 10am. Then the roses are transported to distilleries, usually in horse drawn carriages.

In a way, roses are like the food world’s saffron: precious and expensive.  After using Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil for a few weeks just before it launched five days ago, I’d say if you have fine lines or your complexion is on the dull side after excess sun or stress, it’s like a rich drench of a drink for cells – it does make skin feel cashmere soft and has a lovely rose-honey scent, too. There are three powerful cell-rejuvenating anti-agers here (Bulgarian Damask Rose Otto, Organic Moroccan Argan Oil and Rosehip Seed Oil) and when you know that 320 roses have gone into the bottle, it just feels that bit more precious.

Bodhi’s “ode to rose”, Desert Rose Rejuvenating Face Oil 30ml is available now at an introductory price of £46.00 (only for September while stocks last). RRP £56.  For normal/dry, dehydrated, sensitive, mature or stressed skin.
