Dr. ALKAITIS Organic, Biodynamic…different

Meet one of my personal favourites. Why? Because Dr Alkaitis is different.  I haven’t met him, but just take the ingredients in his range, for starters.  They’re all:

  • Edible, Raw, living and therapeutic,Certified Organic, ethically wildcrafted using biodynamic ingredients; the whole plant – the flower, the stem, the root are used (quite different from “extracts”); the ingredients are adaptogens so they balance and heal, whatever your skin type; they’re aloe-based, not water-based…and the brand is a male celebrity favourite, too.

Secondly, Dr. Alkaitis – who is a research scientist and knows skin inside out – has a huge model following.  We knew supermodel Gisele Bundchen swore by his Organic Eye Cream but what we didn’t know was that Dr. Alkaitis has researched cancer and AIDS for years.

He studied indigenous cultures in various parts of the world to find out exactly how plants have the power to heal illnesses and he believes there’s a real link between our society’s dependence on synthetic chemicals and the rapid increase in cancer cases and other degenerative illnesses.  As he says: “IF YOU CAN’T EAT IT, DON’T PUT IT ON YOUR SKIN”.  So true, because skin “eats” the chemicals we sabotage it with.

My personal hero product is the Organic Eye Cream at  £43.50/15ml. It’s by far the most expensive product in the range “per ml” but worth every drop if you’re used to paying for a really high end cream (so you might as well invest in a cream packed with beautiful, biodynamic plant ingredients.) Not greasy and quick to absorb, it won’t screw up your eye make up either. It’s a “rich” very concentrated cream, yet it’s ultra-light. (Tip: mix a touch of it into your foundation/concealer under eyes and you can use the cream on your eyelids, too).  Full ingredient listing is below.

Dr. Alkaitis’ totally ORGANIC range includes a Day Cream, Eye Cream, Night Cream, Purifying Cleanser, Replenishing Serum, Nourishing Treatment Oil, Soothing Gel, Enzyme Exfoliating Mask, Universal Mask, Flower Mask and Cellular Repair Mask.  If you’re struggling with “troubled” skin, the Organic Soothing Gel is worth a mention for its Vitamins B, C, French Lavender and Wild Chamomile; it’s instantly soothing, specifically formulated to calm eczema, redness, rosacea or acne.

The Organic Day Cream with Echinacea and St. John’s Wort stimulates micro-circulation, increasing oxygen supply to the skin’s surface and honestly, you really can feel it working – it made my skin feel much more ‘alive’.

Quite honestly I could write 10 more blog posts about why I rate this brand a “10”. If you haven’t discovered Dr. Alkaitis yet and like the idea of skincare that really feeds your skin and heals/balances it courtesy of plant and flower power, have a read here:
