YOUR TWITTER PICKS! #rosebeauty

If you saw us Tweeting last week (@BeautyShortlist) about #rosebeauty, we asked what your all-time, rose-based favourites were. Here are some of your picks and a few of ours. OSKIA fans read on – “fab offer alert”!

NEALS YARD REMEDIES – Rose Facial Oil £20.50/50ml

You’ll find all the beauty benefits of rose, the “flower of love” in NYR’s trademark indigo blue bottle here.  Damask rose and plant oils help reduce the appearance of fine lines – it’s beautifully nourishing and an ideal facial oil for normal skin.

Were big facial oil fans – we predict they’ll be one of 2012’s most important beauty products (for more, see the previous post 2012 Beauty Predictions). OSKIA – Renaissance Mask and Rose de Mai Massage Candle (Indulgence Set £60 – an £83 value)

This Indulgence Set flew out of stores over the festive season – lots of candle love going on and now Valentine’s Day’s not far off! OSKIA are giving Beauty Shortlist readers a FREE Eye Wonder (RRP £58) which is a gorgeous, luxurious wonder-worker. It helps rebuild skin cell health around the eye area, brightens skin and tackles dark circles – that’s “tick, tick, tick”.

Packed with antioxidants, it protects skin from UV damage and there’s rose water in it so it qualifies as a #rosebeauty. When you read ingredients in this product on their website, you can see why it’s a beauty superstar. Order online (you can choose any OSKIA products) using code BEAUTY12 and when you spend over £50, you’ll get an Eye Wonder worth £58, absolutely FREE!

REN Clean Skincare – Moroccan Rose Otto Bath Oil (£30/110ml)

Speaking of favourites, there was a lot of love on Twitter for REN’s Rose Otto Body Wash and this Rose Otto Bath Oil.  If you’re not a bath oil fan, we should point out there’s no slip sliding in the bath while you’re dreaming of candle-lit nights in Marrakech with this one as it disperses perfectly in warm water. To sum up: bathtime bliss in a bottle.

DR. HAUSCHKA – Daily Face Care Kit (including Rose Day Cream) £17.95

We were going to feature the Rose Day Cream, Hauschka’s 2012 hero product…but we plumped for this Face Care Kit full of minis instead, a great way to try before you buy. Did you know there are 1,075 of organic rose petals in each tube of their Rose Day Cream ? This precious cream is on offer at the moment, too.

LAVERA – Organic Rose Garden Creamy Body Wash £6.45/150ml

Lavera do a lovely lavender range as well, by the way and here’s their creamy, brilliant value body wash.  It’s a Beauty Shortlist favourite. More products from Lavera’s Bath Range in soothing lavender, fresh orange and zesty lime on their website.

WELEDA – Wild Rose Smoothing Facial Lotion £13.95/30ml

If you like your facial moisturiser light-but-nourishing, this is one to look at.  We can’t say enough good things about Weleda – like Dr. Hauschka, Neals Yard and Lavera  they’re among Europe’s original natural skincare pioneers.

Weleda’s Wild Rose range feels very pure and gentle and if skin feels like it needs a concentrated shot of rose love, Weleda’s Wild Rose Facial Capsules (30 for £18.95) would be an effective superboost.  Supermodel Erin O’Connor uses them, she’s a major Weleda fan.

The capsules are clever little winter skin turbochargers – great if skin’s feeling on the dry side and just needs a little extra help rather than a whole new product….and as they’re individual capsules, you can use some, and come back to them as and when you need them without worrying that they’ll “go off”.

Figs & Rouge Rambling Rose 100% Organic Balm £3.49/8ml

Sometimes the best beauty finds come in the smallest pots, don’t they? So here’s Rambling Rose Organic Lip Balm.  Inside you’ll find a blend of sunflower oil, shea butter, beeswax, rosehip oil, calendula extract and rose geranium essential oil – all of them organic – plus, umm…nothing else! (Figs & Rouge do two minty balms, too, which seem to taste better in the snow as I found out in December.)

Emma Watson’s a fan and if you head over to the lovely Lovelula.com you’ll find more organic treats.

And, last but not least, how could we do #rosebeauty without some rose candle love…?

JONATHAN WARD – Josephine Rose Candle

Josephine Rose is a special candle with a special story (read Jonathan’s blog about the inspiration behind it, musings on the meltingly gorgeous world of candles by our favourite “candelier” as we call him)  Jonathan Ward London

ABAHNA – Lilac Rose & Geranium Scented Natural Wax Candle

These candles, in four signature scents, are the British brand currently a beauty editor favourite – last seen in YOU magazine where their Mandarin & Sicilian Bergamot eau de parfum featured along with Elie Saab, Chanel and other huge names (and Dragon’s Den’s Deborah Meaden picked Abahna on Twitter and apparently placed an order!) www.abahna.co.uk  They’re currently doing a Facebook 50ml EDP giveaway – here if you want to enter.

RHS/WAX LYRICAL – Christmas Rose Candle

If you’re a candleholic you’ll know Wax Lyrical already. We’ve been known to spend lunch hours surfing our favourite scented collections on their website.  Their festive candles are now on offer – many virtually half price. Including this Christmas Rose candle under the Royal Horticultural Society RHS candle brand (RHS have a connoisseur’s nose for roses!) This one’s amazingly priced at £3 for 25 hrs burn time – so you can say boo to the recession and stock up! Step inside:  www.wax-lyrical.com
